The Florida Suzuki Institute, FSI, is designed to offer students, parents, and teachers the opportunity to study the philosophy and teaching of Dr. Shinichi Suzuki. FSI provides an intensive musical experience for families with children who currently study an instrument through the Suzuki Method. FSI institute offers activities for students, parents, and teachers in a one-week session. Families enjoy attending the institute together and participating in a wide range of musical and enrichment activities. Teacher Development classes are for those who wish to begin or continue their study of Suzuki method philosophy and pedagogy. All classes offered conform to the guidelines of the Suzuki Association of the Americas (SAA).

In addition to teaching, the FSI faculty will conduct lectures to share their expertise and extensive knowledge on topics which include: Suzuki philosophy, parent-child interaction, early childhood development, and instrumental techniques and musicianship.

The FSI Final Concert and Recital Series presents faculty, students, and guest artists in a variety of solo and group performances.

The city of Saint Petersburg is known as vacation destination for American and foreign tourist. It is located on a peninsula between Tampa Bay and the Gulf of Mexico. Saint Petersburg offers natural beauty with its numerous white sand beaches, cultural vitality, and numerous family-based activities.  FSI will be held on the campus of Eckerd College, which sits on waterfront property and is beautifully designed and landscaped offering comfortable and peaceful surroundings for the institute.
